Modems that Work with Fax2Send
Fax2Send supports the following standards:
- Class 2 - the Pre 1992 Standard
- Class 2.0 - the Post 1992 Standard
Fax2Send does not support the Class 1 standard which was designed to
be used with single user machines
To find out whether your modem supports a Class 2 fax standard issue
the command at+fclass=? and look for a 2 or 2.0 in the returned list.
You can test whether your modem should work with Fax2Send by running
the command:
/usr/lib/fax2send/interface/class2 -nfaxmodem -t
The following modems are used and regularly tested with Fax2Send
by the development team:
- Multitech MT Desktop Range e.g MT3428BLI
- MT5634ZBA-USB Fax Modem
- US Robotics 56K Fax Modem

Apart from the modems in the above section shown
as (tested by us) we cannot verify that any of these products will work
with Fax2Send

- Pace 56K Voice (Class 1 only)
- Psion 56K + Fax Gold Card (Class 1 only)
- Supra Express 56E (Class 1 only)
- Zoom
2949 External 56K FAX/MODEM (Telephonics Inc.) (Class 1 only)
- Zoom 3049 External 56K FAX/MODEM (Class 1 only)
- ZyXEL 2864I (not known why)
