The Server and Unix/Linux Client is gzipped, the PC Clients and OCX are zipped. Server - Installation WizardLinux newbie or not technical? The server and components are installed by an Install Wizard so anybody can now install Fax2Send (SEE HOW EASY IT IS). Full installation instructions to launch the Installation Wizard are given on the download screen. TranslationsWhen the Installation Wizard is run it automatically checks whether other languages are available. If present these languages are presented on the initial screen. All screens are shown in the selected language. All server messages and labels are also in the selected language. (MORE INFORMATION) PC ClientsUnzip the file to the Temp folder and double click on the Setup.exe - this will run the installshield to install the PC client. Follow the on-screen instructions. After completing the installation run the config program: START/Programs/Fax2Send/Configure The "Configure Fax2Send" dialog box is launched: Fax2Send server Host Name or - enter the network address of the Fax2Send server or server name (If a host file is present) Port Number (normally 2001) - Leave this set to the default unless your systems administrator advises you to change it. On the server add the Windows login name of the client as a user in the following format: Windows_login_name@PC_name (Example - Nik@sinope). The user is most easily added by using the config tool in the Fax2Send X-Windows client. Load the Fax2Send PC client - START/Programs/Fax2Send/Fax2Send - You may like to consider putting a shortcut on the Windows desktop or putting an entry in the startup group. The former is achieved by right clicking on the desktop. The latter by going to START/Settings/Taskbar & Start Menu and selecting the Start Menu Programs tab then clicking on Add Help for server components is provided in html format which can be viewed by selecting Help from the X-Windows client or opening the fax2help.html page which is in /root/tmp/fax2send/html/xx where xx = the language indicator (For example en for English) |
