Cover Sheets - Windows
Cover sheets for the Fax2Send Windows Client can be stored on either
a local or a shared drive on a PC. They are held as ".DOC" files for Wordpad
(rich text format files but called .doc by Wordpad).
When using MS Word, or Wordpad on Windows XP, to edit cover sheets they
should be saved in Rich Text Format (.rtf) and the file name changed to
a .doc extention manually using file explorer or the cover sheet name
changed in the "Prepare Fax Message/Header Sheet" tab to show
the new file name.
Users are able to edit a copy of the cover page before sending a fax - adding a message if they wish.
To change the settings for a cover sheet:
- Run the Fax2Send application from Start/Programs/Fax2Send.
- Select "New Message" from the Compose menu to launch the prepre fax
dialog.
- Click on the "Header Document" tab.
- Change the file name to reflect the new cover sheet to be used.
- Click on the "Save as Default" button if you wish to retain
the setting.
From this dialog it is possible to:
- Edit the cover sheet.
- Change the location of the cover sheet (e.g. to a shared drive). The cover sheet file may need to be moved to the new location first.
- Use a Server Based cover sheet. Note that this is not in Wordpad format and cannot be edited on the PC prior to transmission.
- Use no Cover sheet at all. This is sometimes useful if you are generating cover sheets out of Word or similar.
