User List

The User List holds the names of all the Fax2Send users at a given site. The host name, from which the user operates, must also be specified.

The user list is only read when Fax2Send starts. Adding a user while Fax2Send is running will not register the user until Fax2Send is restarted. Use the command service fax2send restart - User names are read up to the license limit and the rest are ignored.

To register a user add a line in the file in the format user@host. The user and host names are case sensitive.

e.g. john@someserver.somedomain.com

When adding a Windows Client user it is easiest to try and start the Fax2Send application on the PC and note the user and host names specified in the error message. Enter these names in exactly the same case in the user list file and restart Fax2Send.

The Fax2Send Enterprise Edition can use the user list in 2 other ways:

• If there are no entries in the user list then there are no access restrictions to Fax2Send.
• If the user name is given as * then any user at that host is allowed access.
