MS Windows Client Printer Installation

The current version of the installation program for Windows NT/Windows 2000/Windows XP can sometimes fail to install the FAX2SEND printer correctly. To correct this the printer can be installed manually. It is not necessary to re-install the Fax2Send PC Client

  1. From Start/Settings/Printers select "Add Printer".
  2. Click Next until you need to select the printer port.
  3. Click on the button marked "Add Port".
  4. Select "Local Port" from the list and click on "New Port".
  5. For the port name enter "C:\Program Files\Beacon\Fax2Send\FAX2SEND.PRN".
  6. For the manufacturer select "HP".
  7. For the Printer select "HP LaserJet III".
  8. If necessary install the driver from the Windows disk.
  9. Call your printer "FAX2SEND".
  10. Do not perform the printer test.
